Giancarlo Russo is the only official chef in Poland who prepared meals for two Popes: John Paul II and Benedict XVI, and a delegation from the Vatican during papal pilgrimages to Poland. He is the former official chef of the Polish Episcopate, and the Hermes Award winner in the category Personality of Gastronomy 2016.
He also stands as the longtime President of the Italian Association of Cooks in Poland (Polonia FIC) and the former member of an elite Chefs Club Foundation.
He prepares meals for the most well-known politicians, businessmen, actors, singers, and the company’s leading Polish Market. He conducts executive training for chefs, cooks and individuals excited by Italian cuisine, and is a coach in many catering projects co-financed by the European Union Square weights under the European Social Fund.
Russo is also the organizer of the eleventh edition of the prestigious Italian Culinary Arts Competition “Arte Culinaria Italiana”, as well as charity events for orphanages, a juror in many culinary competitions in Poland, and winner of the Guinness record for the largest Italian dish with mushrooms.
He is a known figure in the media and television programmes. Over the years, he led the cyclical culinary program “Buon Appetito” in TELE 5, and now presents a series of programmes relating to food and diet “Athletes – Kitchen Athlete”, on Polsat Sports. He was a judge on “Top Chef”, and is a popular personality presented in catering magazines. A creator of recipes and a culinary expert, he was nominated in three categories for the prestigious “Oskar culinary”, and is the author of a culinary book called”Italian cuisine without borders.”
